Taking my car to get a service is such a chore. I really can’t be bothered doing it. I simultaneously find it disruptive to my daily schedule and stressful. It’s disruptive because I have to take time off work to put my car in for the service and then I don’t have a car until I’m able to pick it up next. It’s really hard to travel to pick up a car when you don’t have a car to be able to do so.
I also find it stressful because of the financial costs associated with it. It’s stressful not knowing whether or not I’ll be able to make ends meet and then trying to find enough funds for a car service. South Yarra, which is in close proximity to where I live, is the suburb I’ve chosen to get my car serviced in. I’ve chosen South Yarra because it’s accessible via public transport which is what I need to get to be able to pick my car up when it’s ready. I obviously can’t afford to pay for any sort of ride share service to take me to my car when I’m struggling to pay my bills enough as it is. Being an adult is so hard. Money is so stressful. Responsibilities are so stressful.
The reason I mention this is because my car is due for a service soon. It’s officially May which is the month I’m due for a service and due to pay my insurance. Why I decided to get my car serviced and pay for my insurance in the same month is beyond me.
I just hope that I don’t need any sort of car repairs. Near Glen Iris, which is where I used to get my car serviced, my car needed really big, expensive repairs that set me back a significant amount of money. If anything like that happens now that I’m living on my own, I will be in a bit of strife. Here’s hoping that’s not the case.
